Meet our fearless leader, Bec.
She had 15 years experience as a chartered accountant at Australia’s biggest firms and banks before she pivoted to Xero bookkeeping for small businesses.
Running a small (but rapidly growing) business herself gave her a new understanding and respect for the hustle, hard work and creativity of the clients she served. It also gave her the chance to bring her personal values—taking care of the Earth and its people—into her work.

April has over ten years of accounting experience in varying roles and positions, bringing a diverse accounting skill set to our team. She is incredible at problem-solving and managing multiple challenges at once without breaking a sweat. When April’s not deep in the bookkeeping, she loves hanging out with her family, her dogs, or enjoying good food and a movie.
Maribel Terte

Maribel, with 14 years of experience in accounting and analysis, is a financial expert with a natural affinity for numbers.
Her exceptional organisational skills, precise time management, and proficiency in modern software make her a valuable addition to our team.
Outside of work, Maribel enjoys visiting the many vineyards and wineries in her home region as a self confessed wine enthusiast and taking coffee or tea with friends after a Pilates class.
Most recently, she finds joy in spending time watching her new baby grow and enjoying family life.

Amy wears many hats: bookkeeper, BAS Agent, wife, mum, bookworm, news & current affairs nerd, and amateur gardener. Amy also cares a great deal about sustainability and social issues. Ideally she’d save all the world’s problems in her lifetime, but she’s starting with maintaining Straight Up Bookkeeping’s B Corp certification (achieved in November 2023) and making sure we keep doing all we can to play our part as a team.
